Welcome to testbed, the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) new pop-up studio for an in-situ artist residency by David Boultbee of BREAD Arts , and sited in the soon-to-be new ‘Adelphi Quarter’ of Preston.
A new £57m UCLan Student Centre and Adelphi University Square, about to start construction here in 2019. The BREAD Arts residency sits within this as part of a wide-reaching public art programme being developed for the project by UCLan Professor Charles Quick alongside collaborative arts consultant Ian Banks of Atoll.
Based here only until Christmas 2018, via BREAD Arts, Testbed will be exploring how people will use the new University Square, soon to be built in this space, through events, engagements and artworks.
